shiki @ ZURYA Fashion Mall

Today at the ZURYA Fashion Mall, we go inside the store of one of Second Life's most innovative and colorful designers, Shinichi Mathy, owner and designer of shiki. shiki's Spring/Summer collection, currently available now, is a bold and beautiful look at casual wear and select formal pieces with a Hawaiian, beach resort inspiration.

I was honored to walk in a show for shiki hosted by Costa Rica Sims Productions several months back and I was recently cast to walk for shiki again at Miami Fashion Week. As a result, I have become quite familiar with the beautiful variety of Shinichi's fabulous designs and their extreme uniqueness in Second Life fashion. Simply put, if you know shiki, you will most probably recognize it immediately when you see it on someone. shiki fashions just stand out in the crowd and you would be hard put to find anyone else out there designing with such daring and brilliant color combinations, combined with such interesting clothing styles.

One of my absolute favorite designs from shiki's Spring/Summer collection is a gorgeous short dress called 'BLOSSOMS', which is featured below in the 'PURPLEMOOON' color. I have this dress styled several different ways in my 'outfits' folder. because it can either go either casual or formal depending on the styling and accessories paired with it. For the look shown below, I have combined this beautiful dress with one of my favorite Vanity Hair glam styles, Gala, and added on Black Satin Pumps from Mary Jane Shoes and GNR-Rose bracelets & earrings from +:+WTG+:+ -- all of which are also available at the ZURYA Fashion Mall. As is the photography pose used above, 'Glam Pose-2' from [Cavalieri].

Another of my favorite designs from shiki, primarily for its amazingly bold color usage, is this orange top and yellow skirt combination called 'HONOLULU CHIC'. You have to be an extremely talented and confident designer to use color combinations such as these and Shinichi succeeds fabulously in making them gorgeous rather than glaring.

For styling this look, I turned once again to Vanity Hair, one of my favorite hair lines in Second Life, and their cute but slightly funky 'Pin-Up' style. Mary Jane Shoes provided these fantastic Yellow Satin Pumps that were an amazing match to the shiki skirt. Lovely gold bracelets and 'Dayak' earrings and necklace from HYATT complemented the gold belt that came with the shiki outfit. All of these items are also available at the ZURYA Fashion Mall.

If you are looking for bright, cheerful Spring/Summer clothing that will bring a smile to your lips when you wear it and have you thinking of warm beaches and glorious vacations, shiki is definitely the place you want to go on your next shopping trip!
